Creating a Modular Custom Exhibit for Versatile Event Spaces

When tasked with designing a custom exhibit that seamlessly integrates a bar, food prep counter, two lounges, casual seating areas, and three major product display areas, the challenge was clear: functionality and flexibility were key. The exhibit needed to adapt to a range of booth sizes, from a spacious 40’x50’ setup down to a more compact 20’x20’ space, without compromising on aesthetics or usability. Our goal was to create a modular design that could scale up or down while maintaining the same level of impact and efficiency, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for visitors at any event.

The Challenge:

To design a custom exhibit with a bar, food prep counter. two lounges, casual seating areas and three major product display areas. These functional areas need to be modular so they can be included in booth sizes that range include 40’x50’, 40’x40’, 40’x30’, 30’x30’, 30’x20’ and 20’x20’

Scope of Work:

  • Thorough analysis of client’s full marketing program objectives
  • Ideate a semi-private lounge complete with internal product display
  • Utilize the columns surrounding the lounge to display product outwards and to present 15’ high branded visuals
  • Create a food prep area behind two high capacity bar counters
  • Design a private raised lounge with seating for 12 and a product display area
  • Keeping the booth physically and visually flowing throughout while providing casual floor seating
  • Crown the exhibit with a uniquely shaped backlit hanging sign that displayed the brand to the entire show floor
  • Demonstrate how the modular components could fit and function in the various required booth space

Our Process:

  • Sketch the overall concept in its entirety
  • Model the arches bar, raised lounge components in a way that provided easy access and traffic flow to all zones
  • Create a sweeping hanging sign that could function in 3 pieces to accommodate various booth sizes
  • Collaborate with client on basic architecture before finishing the final sizes, shapes and spaces
  • Apply client designed graphic content to the architecture

The Solution:

  • Through the process stage, shapes and positioning of elements were established.
  • Feature textures and colours are established for lounge walls, arches counters flooring, ceilings and finally lighting effects
  • Booth is rendered in several sizes to check that all spaces provide the visual impact, branding and component function required.
